What's New

Have you been turned down for health coverage because of a pre-existing condition? Have you been without insurance for more than six months? If you answered yes to these questions, you might be eligible for Ohio High Risk Pool plans administered by Medical Mutual of Ohio.

The Ohio High Risk Pool is designed to give uninsured Ohioans with pre-existing conditions access to quality health insurance. With two affordable plan choices, responsive local customer service and access to the largest network of doctors and hospitals in the state, the Ohio High Risk Pool gives you the coverage you need-right now.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services has a new Web site for the state's unemployed workers: www.ohioheretohelp.com
The Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition program  is available through the Area Office on Aging. It is for eligible seniors 60 years of age or over by June 1, 2010. The program provides eligible seniors $50 worth of coupons for locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey.
Connecting with your Child Support Agency is a new 2 page brochure that contains valuable information for payers of Child Support.  Read this brochure to learn about the simple procedures to follow if you're having trouble paying your child support.
In 2009, the Workforce Development Division attended information sessions about the new Child Care Automated System to be implemented in 2010. The system change also involves staff from the Information Systems and Technical Support Division. The first piece to be effective will be an automated payment system; child care provider payments will be issued by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) rather than by the Seneca County Department of Job and Family Services (SCDJFS). The second phase will be the implementation of the Eligibility and Authorization piece. Once this is effective, the automated system will determine household eligibility, calculate family co-payments, provide "alerts" for staff, and send computer generated eligibility notices.  It is expected that this new Child Care Automated System will enable the SCDJFS staff to work more quickly and efficiently to serve our customers.
