Counseling & Intervention Services for Juveniles
Payment for Counseling & Intervention Services for Juveniles is offered through the Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) - Prevention, Retention, and Contingency (PRC) Program.
Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) targets chronic, violent, or substance abusing male or female juvenile offenders ages 12 - 17 at high risk of out of home placement. MST counseling/intervention has lead to significant reductions in out of home placements and reductions in legal charges for youth in Seneca County.
What Services are Offered?
MST is an intensive family and community based treatment program that addresses the multiple determinants of serious antisocial behavior in juvenile offenders. The multi-systemic approach views individuals as being nested within a network of connected systems that encompass the individual, his/her family, and other groups (peers, school, neighborhood). Intervention may be necessary in any one or a combination of these systems. Services are provided by Firelands Counseling and Recovery.
Who is Eligible?
These services are only for families who receive a referral from Seneca County Juvenile Court or from Seneca County Children Services.
Upon referral, Firelands Counseling and Recovery determines eligibility for the MST program.
In addition, applicants must meet certain citizenship requirement and the applicant's gross income must be at or below the 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
