Payments may be made for parenting classes to assist at-risk individuals; so that children may be cared for in their own home or in the home of a relative.

What Services are Offered?

Parenting education topics include appropriate supervision and discipline, how to provide basic needs, child development, etc.

Who is Eligible?

These services are ONLY for families who receive a written referral from Seneca County Children Services. These services must be recommended by the Children Services Supervisor or Administrator.

The following groups are potentially eligible for these services:

  • Specified relative with minor child(ren).
  • Legal custodian/guardian with minor child(ren).
  • An Ohio non-custodial parent if the non-custodial parent and/or the child reside in Seneca County.
  • Services may be provided to a household NOT residing in Seneca County if that household has an active case with Seneca County Children Services.

In addition, applicants must meet certain citizenship requirement and the applicant’s gross income must be at or below the 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.

An applicant is responsible for completing all necessary documents, furnishing all available facts and information, and cooperating in the eligibility determination process. All needed information is subject to verification. The applicant also must cooperate with exploring available community resources.
